5 Golden Rules of Twitter Content Strategy

5 Golden Rules It is vitally important that with just 140 characters you get your point across concisely and with the minimum of fuss. 1: Keep each tweet focused on delivering just one single message or call to action. Of course you can use a link to a blog, post or website as long as you use a link shortener such as Bitly.com to help you keep the link short. 2: Always use an image, video or GIF when you tweet, this adds a touch of personality and a much higher engagement rate. Remember some of your followers have thousands of tweets running through their time lines. Text does not stand out, but a strong, bold image will do. 3: Always use a #hashtag within your tweet, why? They allow you to expand your tweet and tap into relevant conversations. Research on which particular #hashtags are trending and just as importantly when they are is time well spent. You may find specific #hashtags to your niche or business. 4: To engage with your followers, ask ques...

Gaining Followers On Twitter - Is It Just Vanity?

NO it definitely is not vanity! Gaining followers, and when I say followers, what I really mean is, targeted and organic followers who have a direct affiliation with your chosen niche. Increasing your follower count is crucial to your business success and here is why. Reason No 1. Each follower is a potential customer. Imagine that your Twitter account was a bricks and mortar shop. Each follower enters your shop and from then on, is on a revolving walk way. They never leave your shop. Whilst in your shop you can show them sales, useful information, and make them really feel part of your brand. Reason No 2. Each and everyone of your followers has chosen to follow you! They are interested in you or your product, so tell them about it. What you do and how you do it. You have not dragged them off the street. They have entered your shop of their on free will. Reason No 3. Each follower is worth an amount of money, no matter how small that amount is, they are still worth ...

Today In this blog post we are going to take a look at a smart way of following people, as you cannot tweet if you have no followers! I said I would try and make it easier for you to follow people. First on the list (joke) is  LISTS. To find if you have been added to any lists by other followers click on your home page, look to your right along the bar you will see a little circle with your profile picture on it. If you hover your mouse over it - it will say "Profile and Settings" click on this and it will reveal a drop down menu. Here you will find "Lists" click on this and a new page will open. In the middle it will say "Subscribed to" and "Member of" if you are ahead of the game the lists that you have subscribed to will be in the first one, and if anyone has added you to their lists then you will be in the "Member of" one. Gaining New Followers On Twitter By Using The Search Bar

By now you have started to follow others and started your list building. Now you can start using the "Search" tool to help you find other like minded people to either follow or to add to your list. Using the example of "Camp Sites" once more type this into the search bar on your Twitter home page. When I have done this it comes up with a number of accounts the first for me is @CampingSites if I click on them their home page opens up. Firstly I would add them to my list of "Campsites" then I would see if they have any lists themselves. In this case they have 3. If you click on their lists their first is called "Good People To Know" click on this and you will see that they have 70 members and 3 subscribers to this list. Click on the 70 members and if there are any people that you find interesting or fit into any of your lists then click away and either follow or add to your own lists. You can do this with every account, a brilliant way ...
